Honestly, Voždovac turned out to be this perfect middle ground that nobody really talks about. The hotel sits on Drenovska street, which is one of those residential roads where you actually hear birds in the morning instead of constant traffic. I mean, you’re still in Belgrade, so there’s city hum, but it’s not overwhelming like some places I’ve stayed near Knez Mihailova.

The thing that struck me first was how the place feels genuinely Serbian without trying too hard — you know what I mean? The staff actually seem to live here (not just work here), and they’ll tell you things like which bakery opens earliest or that the 31 bus line gets packed around 4 PM but runs perfectly otherwise. The rooms themselves are solid — nothing Instagram-fancy, but everything works properly and the beds are actually comfortable, not just firm for the sake of being firm. I particularly loved that the windows open properly, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many newer places seal you in completely. The bathrooms are well-sized too, with decent water pressure that stays consistent.

What really won me over was the location’s practicality. You’re about fifteen minutes from Slavija Square by bus, which puts you close enough to everything important without dealing with the noise and tourist markup of the city center. There’s this little market just down the street where locals shop — I grabbed fresh bread and coffee there most mornings and it felt like discovering something real. Parking isn’t a nightmare either, which anyone who’s driven in Belgrade will appreciate. The whole Voždovac area has this lived-in feel where families walk their dogs in the evening and kids play football in the small parks. It’s not picture-perfect, but it’s authentic in a way that makes you feel like you’re experiencing actual Belgrade life rather than just visiting it.

The 8.3 rating makes total sense to me — it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any nasty surprises. Check-in was straightforward, the WiFi actually works throughout the building, and honestly, the value is hard to beat for a proper 4-star experience. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to explore Belgrade from a more residential perspective rather than being stuck in the tourist bubble downtown.
