Pintrst-Penthouse Old Town Renovated

So I stumbled across this renovated penthouse on Venizelosova Street – honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from the name “Pintrst-Penthouse” because, well, it sounds like someone sneezed while typing Pinterest. But you know what? This place completely caught me off guard in the best way possible.

The thing about staying in Stari Grad is that you’re literally in the heart of old Belgrade, which means cobblestone streets that’ll rattle your suitcase wheels to death, but also means you can walk to Skadarlija (the bohemian quarter) in about five minutes and stumble back from the kafanas without needing a taxi. This particular spot on Venizelosova is actually perfect – you get that authentic old-town vibe without being right on top of the tourist crowds. I mean, you’ll still hear some street noise during the day, but it dies down pretty nicely at night, unlike some places closer to Knez Mihailova where the party never stops. The renovation work here is really thoughtfully done too – they kept the character of the building (those high ceilings and original details) but added modern touches that actually make sense. The bathroom has this rainfall shower that I probably spent too much time in, and the kitchen setup is way better than most places that just throw in a mini-fridge and call it equipped.

What really won me over was how the space feels like an actual home rather than a sterile hotel room. There’s this lived-in comfort that you don’t usually get, plus the penthouse aspect means you’re not dealing with footsteps overhead – always a win in older buildings where sound travels like crazy. The wifi actually works (miracle in some Belgrade accommodations), and they’ve got proper blackout curtains which saved my life after a few too many rakijas at Tri Šešira down the street. Location-wise, you’re maybe a seven-minute walk to the fortress, and there’s this little bakery around the corner on Cara Dušana that opens early and makes these incredible burek pastries – honestly better than the touristy spots everyone raves about. The 9.4 rating makes total sense when you factor in that they clearly pay attention to details most places miss, and the price point is reasonable for what you’re getting in this part of the city. Just heads up though – like most places in Stari Grad, parking can be a bit of an adventure, so if you’re driving, maybe scout out the area first or ask them about options nearby.
