I mean, you’re taking an elevator up to your hotel, which feels a bit weird at first. But honestly? It turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something the guidebooks missed.
The thing about this place is its location β and I don’t mean that in some generic “convenient location” way. You’re right in Savski Venac, which puts you in this sweet spot where you can actually walk to the pedestrian zone around Knez Mihailova in about ten minutes, but you’re not dealing with all the tourist chaos right outside your window. The building itself sits on a quiet street, and being on the 6th floor means you get these glimpses of Belgrade’s rooftops that you wouldn’t see from street level. There’s something oddly satisfying about watching the city wake up from up there with your morning coffee. The rooms themselves are well thought out β not huge, but designed by someone who actually understands how people use hotel rooms. The beds are properly comfortable (you know how some 4-star places cheap out on mattresses), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. What I really appreciated was the attention to small details β good lighting for reading, enough outlets in the right places, and a bathroom that doesn’t require gymnastics to use the shower.
You know what really sets this place apart though? The staff actually seem to know Belgrade, not just the hotel. When I asked about where to grab dinner that wasn’t tourist-trap expensive, they pointed me toward some local spots that I never would have found on my own. The whole operation feels like it’s run by people who care about the place, which β honestly β is rarer than it should be. The 9-rating makes sense when you experience it; it’s not trying to be some flashy luxury property, but everything works the way it should. Check-in was smooth, the Wi-Fi actually worked throughout the building, and I never had to call the front desk to fix something that should have been working in the first place. If you’re the type who needs a pool and a spa, this isn’t your place. But if you want a solid base for exploring Belgrade that feels more like staying at a well-run local spot than some international chain, My City gets it right. Plus, being up on the 6th floor means it’s quieter than you’d expect for being so central β I slept better here than I did at some resort properties I’ve stayed at.

What could be improved: Unfortunaely we were moved to a different location last minute, which was far from the city center - so it made our Belgrade experience more complicated and expensive (in taxis as we had to go back and forth 8 times) than planned. The appartment itself was nice, but the elevator didn't work and there were more that 100 steps. Shame, it could have gone better.

Apartment is spacious, kitchen has everything you need, beds are very comfortable.

What could be improved: Just one thing. The elevator is really loud. The apparment is on the 6th floor, where the mechanism for the elevator is. And each time someone is using it, it makes a really loud sound. I am a light sleeper, so it kept me up until I used earplugs.

- Washing machine was a plus put note, that it is VERY VERY LOUD.
What could be improved: - Lack of privacy in the bathroom (shower) due to window facing directly into neighbouring building. I did not feel comfortable having a shower as the neighbours on a higher level could easily see in. We are travelling with our one year old so the lack of privacy in the shower was not ideal - we had to cover the window with something
- Funny smell in the bathroom, most probably from the drains
- Tv did not work (not the end of the world but as we are travelling with our child who goes to bed early, having the option to watch tv would have been nice.
- No hot water in the kitchen
- The main bedroom had flannel sheets which made sleeping uncomfortable due to the warmth
- Loud elevator, the noise from the elevator will most likely wake you up throughout the night if youβre a light sleeper

Katarina was both welcoming and helpful and the location of the apartment could not really have been any better.
The location was near the center and you can park your car near the building. The host was kind. The apartment was clean. It is a good value.
