What really got me was how the place feels more like staying at a friend’s apartment than some sterile hotel room. The owner clearly put thought into the details – I mean, there’s actually decent coffee in the kitchen, not those sad instant packets you usually find. The windows face toward the quieter side of the street, which is clutch because Savski Venac can get pretty lively, especially on weekends when people are heading to and from the clubs along the river. I slept like a baby, even with the windows cracked open. The neighborhood itself is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Belgrade rather than just visiting. There’s this little bakery about two blocks down that locals line up at every morning – you’ll smell the bread baking if you’re up early enough. And here’s something most tourists miss: you’re actually walking distance to both the bohemian Skadarlija area and the fortress, but without paying those inflated prices for accommodation right in the tourist zones.

The apartment itself feels bigger than it probably is – good use of space, decent natural light, and the bathroom actually has proper water pressure (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case in older Belgrade buildings). I appreciated that the Wi-Fi actually worked consistently, and there’s enough outlets for all your devices without having to unplug the bedside lamp. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – none of that awkward waiting around in a lobby wondering if you’re supposed to tip someone. The host was responsive without being hovering, if that makes sense. Look, it’s not going to win any design awards, and the building’s hallways have that distinctly Eastern European institutional vibe, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want. It’s authentic, it’s comfortable, and that 9.6 rating isn’t just people being generous – this place delivers on the basics really well. Plus, when you’re paying Belgrade prices instead of Western European ones, honestly, what more do you need?
