You know how Stari Grad can be tricky with accommodations? Either you’re dealing with some sketchy converted apartment or paying through the nose for something that’s all flash and no substance. This place actually gets it right. The location on Cika Ljubina is honestly perfect – you’re literally steps from Republic Square (hence the name, obviously), but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the late-night chaos from the main pedestrian zone. I mean, you can still hear the city humming, but it’s more of a gentle Belgrade soundtrack than the full-blown street party that happens closer to Knez Mihailova.
What really sold me was walking into the lobby and immediately thinking “okay, someone who actually lives here designed this place.” The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood – not just the tourist spots, but where to grab proper coffee at 7 AM or which bakery has the best burek when you’re stumbling home late. The rooms have this comfortable, lived-in elegance that’s hard to fake. You know what I’m talking about – good linens that actually feel nice, not just look Instagram-ready, and bathroom amenities that don’t make you want to run to the nearest pharmacy. The whole place feels like it was put together by someone who’s traveled enough to know what actually matters. Parking can be a nightmare in this part of the city (honestly, just take a taxi from the airport), but they’ve somehow worked out deals with nearby spots, which is more thoughtful than most places bother with.
Here’s the thing that really gets me – this place has a 9.7 rating, and usually I’m skeptical of anything above 9 because it feels manufactured. But spending a few nights here, I actually get it. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Belgrade – there are definitely more luxurious options if that’s what you’re after. Instead, it’s just… competent? Which sounds boring, but it’s actually rare. Everything works the way it should, the location is genuinely useful, and the whole experience feels like someone thought through what travelers actually need rather than what looks good in photos. If you’re planning to explore Stari Grad properly – and honestly, you should, because most people just hit the main drag and miss the good stuff – this is the kind of base camp that makes sense. You’re close enough to walk everywhere that matters, but you’re staying somewhere that feels like a real place, not a tourist machine.

Excellent location. Well equipped and modern, comfortable rooms . Mrs Stava The owner is a very decent and helpful lady . Her husband Alexander is also a kind person who helped us with the luggage and ordering aTaxi.
Certainly I recommend this apartment for all tourists coming to Belgrade.

Excellent location, close to all major attractions and shopping areas! Stasha was so friendly and helpful throughout the stay. She arranged for pickup from the airport and met us at curbside upon arrival. Stasha was very quick to respond if we had any questions about Belgrade and how to get around. Looking forward to staying here again for our next trip to Belgrade.

The apartment is amazing, has literally everything you need for both short or longer stays, and is in an incredible position nestled in the heart of Belgrade. Sights, shops and restaurants are all within easy walking distance, and you can get around quite easily using taxi apps if you need to go further.

Apartment had fully equipped kitchen we had our breakfast in apartment. But if anyone wish to have breakfast in the restaurant there's so many of them in the area, all you have to do is just go downstairs walk on the street and restaurants all around you. Owner of the apartment, this beautiful kind lady Mrs Stasa met us at the apartment and showed us everything in apartment gave us her phone number just in case we need to get in touch with her . This one bedroom apartment is beautiful modern,comfortable bed, modern furniture , fully equipped kitchen with everything in it. I would honestly recommend this Main Square Residence to anyone with good taste. I would like to say thank you to Mrs Stasa for being a good host.
What could be improved: I honestly can't think of anything that can be better than what it was when we arrived.

Stayed 10 nights. Alexander helped with luggage upon arrival and departure. Apartment true to photos. Bed very comfortable. Powerful shower. The most perfect location to stay, able to walk everywhere. Stasha and Alexander are not only great hosts but the nicest people and always checked on us to see if we needed anything and to ensure everything was ok with our stay. Highly recommend. Thank you, Stasha and Alexander! It was a pleasure meeting you. You are the best!
