Check-in was smooth – no drama, staff speaks English without that strained politeness you sometimes get. The neighborhood itself is interesting because you’re technically in New Belgrade, but you can walk to Zemun (the old Austro-Hungarian part) in about ten minutes, and that’s where you want to go for dinner anyway. Those cobblestone streets and fish restaurants right by the water – that’s the real Belgrade experience. Or if you want to head into the main city center, there are buses that run regularly, though honestly, a taxi won’t break the bank. The hotel’s location means you get this nice mix of being close to everything but not stuck in the tourist chaos around Knez Mihailova Street. Plus, there’s something kind of soothing about falling asleep to the sound of the river, especially after you’ve spent the day walking around the city. It’s one of those places where the 8.3 rating makes sense – not perfect, but solid in all the ways that actually matter when you’re traveling.
