The Experience

Belgrade Art Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals

You know what's funny about the Belgrade Art Hotel?

You know what’s funny about the Belgrade Art Hotel? I walked past it three times before realizing this was actually my hotel – the entrance is so seamlessly integrated into Knez Mihailova that it feels more like stepping into a private gallery than a typical hotel lobby. And honestly, that’s exactly what they’re going for here. The whole place has this sophisticated Belgrade vibe where contemporary art meets old-world charm, and somehow it doesn’t feel forced or pretentious.

The location is absolutely killer, I mean, you’re literally on the main pedestrian street in the heart of Stari Grad. I could roll out of bed and grab coffee at one of those tiny cafés that locals actually frequent (not the touristy ones), then wander over to Kalemegdan Fortress in about ten minutes. The rooms themselves are spacious by European standards – I had this corner room that overlooked the bustling street below, and while you might think that sounds noisy, the windows are surprisingly good at keeping the sound out. The design is clean and modern without being sterile, lots of natural light, and the bathroom actually has decent water pressure (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always guaranteed in this part of the world).

What really impressed me was how the staff seemed to genuinely know Belgrade – not just the obvious tourist spots, but they’d recommend this little rakija bar tucked away on Skadarlija or mention that Thursday evenings are when the local art scene comes alive in the Dorćol neighborhood. The breakfast was solid too, though I’ll admit I usually ended up grabbing burek from the street vendor around the corner because, well, when in Belgrade, right? Parking can be a bit of a nightmare if you’re driving – I’d honestly recommend just using the airport shuttle or taking a taxi from the train station. The hotel doesn’t have its own garage, but there’s a public one nearby, though it fills up quick during summer months when the city gets packed with festival-goers. Check-in was smooth, and they actually let me store my bags for a few hours after checkout so I could explore the fortress one more time before heading to the airport. It’s one of those places where you feel like you’re staying somewhere special without the stuffiness that usually comes with boutique hotels. The 8.8 rating makes total sense – it’s not perfect, but it gets the important stuff right and gives you that authentic Belgrade experience without sacrificing comfort.

had a great time in this nice hotel, with its central location, nice comfy rooms, excellent breakfast and great staff

What could be improved: hotel in a pedestrian zone so not easy to reach with bags. towels too small

Fantastic location right on Knez Mihailova. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful and on duty 24 hours. Thank you for the room upgrade :). Large comfortable room with a Nespresso machine. Close to all the sights, cafes, and the bus station.

What could be improved: Wifi was very patchy and the shower was only ever warm water, never hot.

Staff were fantastic (from front desk, service and cleaning, to restaurant and cafe staff), rooms were extremely well cleaned and stocked and comfortable. Location is excellent, but if you are travelling with a lot of luggage, be warned that there is no direct access to the hotel lobby by car and some walking is required. Breakfast was great, but very 'western', it would have been nice to see some of the fantastic local foods on offer at the breakfast buffet. Great value for money, highly recommend it!

My husband and I recently spent a week at this lovely hotel in Belgrade, and we wholeheartedly recommend it! The location is simply amazing, right in the center of the city and just a short walk from the iconic Kalemegdan. It made our exploration of Belgrade's rich history and vibrant atmosphere so seamless.
We would like to extend our gratitude to Milo, who was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. His professionalism and willingness to assist us with any question we had went above and beyond our expectations. His warm and welcoming demeanor truly enhanced our experience.
Thank you to the hotel team for all the efforts you put into making our stay so enjoyable. We encourage anyone considering a trip to Belgrade to book this property — you won't be disappointed!

Very good positioning, right in the center, good personnel, very good and diversified breakfast.

What could be improved: Lighting system in our room very complicated, bathroom switcher next to the door doesn't work you should turn on the light by a swicher next to the bed together with other lights in the room and so on.
