I mean, when you’re on the 15th floor looking out at the Sava River, the whole city kind of spreads out below you in this way that makes you forget you’re staying in someone else’s space.

The location on Hercegovačka is actually pretty smart – you’re right in Savski Venac, which locals will tell you is one of those neighborhoods that’s residential enough to feel authentic but still close to everything that matters. The building itself is one of those newer high-rises that Belgrade’s been putting up, so the elevator actually works (trust me, that’s not always a given here), and there’s proper parking in the garage below. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – sure, you’ll hear some city sounds, but being up that high sort of buffers you from the street noise that can drive you crazy in some Belgrade accommodations.

Three bedrooms is no joke either, especially when they’re laid out this well. The master has this huge window that frames the river view perfectly, and honestly, I found myself just sitting there with my morning coffee watching the boats and the occasional jogger on the opposite bank. The kitchen is actually equipped like someone lives here – proper knives, decent pots, even spices left behind by previous guests (which sounds weird but is somehow reassuring). You could legitimately cook here if you wanted to, though with Belgrade’s restaurant scene, why would you? The whole place has this lived-in comfort that’s rare in rentals – books on the shelves, art that someone actually chose rather than generic hotel prints, that sort of thing.

Getting around from here is easier than you’d think. Knez Mihailova is maybe a 15-minute walk if you cut through the right streets, and there’s a decent café scene starting to develop in the immediate area. The host was refreshingly straightforward during check-in – no lengthy speeches about house rules, just the keys and a genuine “let me know if you need anything.” I did notice the Wi-Fi can get a bit spotty during peak hours, probably because half the building is working from home, but it’s reliable enough for most needs.

That 9.4 rating makes sense when you experience it – it’s not trying to be fancy, just comfortable and genuine in a way that lets you actually relax. The river view alone is worth it, especially if you time it right for sunset, but what kept me happy was all the small stuff working properly. Hot water stayed hot, the air conditioning didn’t sound like a freight train, and there were enough towels. Sometimes that’s all you really want from a place.
