Location is great, the staff is helpful and always available, breakfast was good.
What could be improved: I had to change the room because of the cigarettes smell, and the second room was close to perfection.

Hotel Royal Inn
Look, I've stayed at plenty of places in Belgrade over the years, and Hotel Royal Inn honestly surprised me in the best way.
Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places in Belgrade over the years, and Hotel Royal Inn honestly surprised me in the best way. You know that feeling when you walk into a place and immediately think “okay, this works”? That’s exactly what happened here. The lobby has this warm, understated elegance – not trying too hard to impress, but clearly someone put thought into making it feel welcoming rather than sterile.
The location on Kralja Petra is actually brilliant if you want to experience real Belgrade without being stuck in the touristy bubble. You’re right in Stari Grad, which means you can walk to Kalemegdan Fortress in about ten minutes (honestly, the morning walks there became my favorite part of each day), but you’re also close enough to Knez Mihailova that you don’t need to plan your evening around transportation. The street itself is quieter than you’d expect – I mean, it’s still the city center, so there’s some traffic, but the rooms facing the courtyard are surprisingly peaceful. Pro tip: if you’re a light sleeper, just mention it when you check in. The staff actually listens and will sort you out.
What really sets this place apart is how the staff treats you like a person rather than a room number. The front desk folks – there’s this one guy, Marko, who genuinely knows the city inside and out. Not the rehearsed recommendations you usually get, but actual insights like which kafana has live music on Tuesday nights or where to find the best burek at 2 AM (crucial information, trust me). The rooms themselves hit that sweet spot between comfortable and practical. Nothing flashy, but the beds are properly comfortable, the bathroom has decent water pressure, and there’s enough space to actually unpack if you’re staying more than a night or two. The WiFi works everywhere, which – let’s be honest – isn’t always a given in Belgrade hotels.
I stayed there during both summer and a chilly March visit, and the climate control actually works, which might sound basic but you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong. The breakfast is solid too – not a huge spread, but fresh bread, good coffee (important!), and enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re there for several days. Plus, they don’t rush you out if you want to linger over your coffee and plan your day.
What I really appreciate is that Hotel Royal Inn feels authentically Belgrade without trying to be something it’s not. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or rooftop bars you’ll never use – you’re paying for a genuinely comfortable base in one of the city’s most interesting neighborhoods. The 8.6 rating makes total sense when you actually stay there; it’s the kind of place that does the fundamentals really well and adds just enough personal touches to make you want to come back. If you’re looking for a hotel that feels more like a temporary home than a corporate pit stop, this is definitely worth considering.

What Our Guests Say
Really convenient to get around the city, staff were lovely and very efficient, a very good breakfast in the morning included. Loved having dressing gown, slippers and all the extras in the room, we didn’t expect those in a city hotel.
What could be improved: The only downside for us was the lifts, there were only two and they only took either two or three people, there are 97 rooms and we were on the 8th floor so always walked down, but did like to take the lift up, often there were long waits and there were four of us so we couldn’t go together.
Excellent location with exceptional staff and very clean rooms!
Clean
Friendly and helpful staff, the breakfast was fresh and delicious. Location is perfect, very close to the attractions.
What could be improved: the internet connection in the room was not stable at times.
Excellent location, very friendly staff, 24/7 staff availability and support. Peaceful and not noisy rooms. Very clean rooms and washrooms. Mini bar with basics was a good complementary welcome.
What could be improved: Nothing!
This was a very nice, small hotel in the walking/shopping district. The location was perfect with shopping, restaurants and attractions nearby
