I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Hotel M on Bulevar oslobodjenja, I wasn’t expecting much. The neighborhood in Voždovac isn’t exactly where most tourists end up, but you know what? That turned out to be exactly why this place works so well. It sits in this perfectly normal Belgrade residential area where you actually get to see how locals live, not just the polished city center that everyone photographs.
The hotel itself has that clean, modern vibe without trying too hard – I mean, it’s a solid 4-star place that knows what it is. The lobby smells like that subtle hotel vanilla scent (not overpowering, thankfully), and check-in was surprisingly smooth. The staff actually seemed to care, which honestly caught me off guard after some experiences I’ve had elsewhere in the Balkans. My room faced the boulevard, so there was some traffic noise during the day, but it dies down completely by evening. The beds are properly comfortable – not those rock-hard European mattresses that leave you wondering if you’ve offended someone.
What really got me was how genuinely local this area feels. You’re maybe a 15-minute ride from Slavija Square, but walking around the neighborhood, you’ll find these little kafanas where the only tourists are the ones staying at Hotel M. There’s this bakery literally two blocks down that does the most incredible burek – I ended up going there three mornings in a row because the hotel breakfast, while decent, couldn’t compete with warm cheese burek at 7 AM. The boulevard itself is actually pretty pleasant for walking, lined with these typical Belgrade apartment blocks that give you a real sense of the city’s rhythm. Parking was surprisingly easy too, which anyone who’s driven in Belgrade will tell you is basically a miracle.
The thing about Hotel M is that it’s not trying to be the flashiest place in town – it’s just consistently good at the things that actually matter when you’re traveling. Hot water that stays hot, wifi that works, staff who can give you directions to places that aren’t in guidebooks. I stayed there during late spring when Belgrade gets busy, and while the city center hotels were packed and overpriced, this place felt like finding a quiet corner in a crowded café. The 8.1 rating makes perfect sense – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s not going to disappoint you either, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Not much modern structure but, all in all, a good hotel.
Big parking.
What could be improved: Quality of the food in the restaurant is quite low.

What could be improved: Check in was very late (at 4 PM we got the room), waiting more than 2 hours in the lobby). One of the rooms had old furniture. Limited options at breakfast.
Position was good, friendly staff at check-in and check-out. Room pretty good, comfortable and clean.
What could be improved: Very poor internet signal.
Rude person on reception when asking for an internet improvement, in the afternoon/evening of 25 May, poor English and bad communication skills. That person's attitude does not have a positive impact over the hotel reputation.

What could be improved: Receptionist made no effort to call a taxi, she said there were none available but we managed to call one in 10mins
The location was great and staff polite. Clean room with comfortable beds. Breakfast was great.
What could be improved: everything was ok. I just get disappointed when the photos show modern rooms and you get a room that’s not even similar. Looking at the photos I had an impression that it’s a newer modern hotel and it turned to be older facility (but still nice and clean)
Staff is great, location is quiet and tranquil, parking is right in front, no issues whatsoever
Breakfast was good, just enough.
Location is pefect, close to Dedinje what I needed but also 10 min with car from Water front.
What could be improved: Price could be a bit lower!
The booking included a nice breakfast everyday and the rooms were very clean, with comfortable beds. The staff was helpful and friendly.
