You know what surprised me most about ForS Resort & Spa? It actually feels like a proper resort despite being smack in the middle of Novi Beograd. I mean, when you’re standing on Milana S. Minića street looking at this place, you wouldn’t expect the kind of zen atmosphere they’ve managed to create inside – but honestly, once you walk through those doors, the city noise just sort of… disappears.

The thing about this part of Belgrade is that it’s not the touristy old town everyone talks about, which I actually think works in ForS’s favor. You’re in this modern district where real Belgrade life happens, surrounded by those iconic socialist-era apartment blocks (they’re actually kind of fascinating if you’re into architecture), but you’ve got this oasis of calm right there. The spa part isn’t just marketing fluff either – I spent way too much time in their wellness area because, well, when you’ve been walking around Belgrade’s cobblestones all day, your feet will thank you. The staff there genuinely knows their stuff, not just going through the motions like at some places.

What really gets me is how they’ve nailed that balance between feeling upscale without being stuffy. The rooms are properly comfortable – good beds, actually hot showers, and here’s something you don’t always get in Belgrade hotels: reliable wifi throughout the building. Parking’s sorted too, which anyone who’s tried to park in this city will appreciate. I stayed during one of those crazy Serbian summer weeks when it hits 35°C, and the AC worked like a dream. The breakfast spread is honestly impressive – they do this mix of international stuff and proper Serbian specialties, so you can ease into rakija and kajmak or stick with what you know. One tiny thing though – the elevators can be a bit slow during busy times, but that’s hardly a dealbreaker.

The location grows on you once you figure it out. Sure, you’re not stumbling out your door onto Knez Mihailova, but you’re a quick taxi ride to anywhere that matters, and there’s something nice about coming back to a quieter neighborhood after a day exploring Kalemegdan or getting lost in Skadarlija. Plus, there are some genuinely good local restaurants within walking distance that most tourists never find – the kind where the waiter might not speak perfect English but the ćevapi will ruin you for anywhere else.
