Envoy Hotel

You know what struck me first about the Envoy Hotel?

You know what struck me first about the Envoy Hotel? It’s tucked away on this quiet little street in Stari Grad – Cika Ljubina 13 – and honestly, I almost walked past it because it doesn’t scream “look at me” like some places do. But that’s actually part of its charm. The building has this understated elegance that fits perfectly with the old-town vibe, and once you’re inside, you realize they’ve really nailed that sweet spot between historic character and modern comfort.

The location is honestly brilliant if you know Belgrade at all. You’re literally in the heart of the old city, which means you can stumble out the front door and be at Skadarlija (that cobblestone bohemian quarter everyone talks about) in maybe three minutes on foot. I mean, you’ll hear the street musicians practicing in the afternoon if you have a room facing that direction – not loud enough to be annoying, but just enough to remind you where you are. The Danube’s right there too, and if you’re into those evening river walks, you’re golden. What I really appreciated was how easy it was to duck back to the hotel when my feet got tired from all that cobblestone wandering – something you definitely can’t do if you’re staying out in New Belgrade.

The rooms themselves feel properly thought out, not just decorated. The beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about this), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without playing Tetris with your luggage. The bathrooms have that rainfall shower situation that works way better than those tiny European shower heads you sometimes get stuck with. Check-in was smooth – the staff seemed to genuinely know the neighborhood, not just recite scripted recommendations. When I asked about where to grab coffee that wasn’t touristy, the guy at reception gave me directions to this little place around the corner that locals actually use. Those kinds of details matter, you know? The WiFi held up fine for video calls too, which – let’s be honest – is crucial these days. With a 9-point rating, you’d expect things to run smoothly, and they do, but without that sterile chain-hotel feeling. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere that belongs to Belgrade, not just dropped into it.

The hotel is in a great location, close to all the main tourist spots. There is a 24-hour supermarket right in front. Though it’s in the city center, the room was quiet. The bed was very comfortable, and we had no trouble sleeping.

Most importantly, the front desk staff helped us a lot when we had a problem. He was very kind, helpful, and caring. We regret that we were in a big hurry and didn’t get the chance to thank him properly. We didn’t speak the local language, so we would have felt so lost without his help. Thanks to him, the rest of our trip was easy and enjoyable.

The location is great. They offer parking, but it’s about a 7-minute walk downhill. The staff were nice and helpful.

What could be improved: There was only one set of towels in the room and some trash in the bathroom bin, but everything was quickly taken care of after we informed reception.

Perfectly located in the very centre of Old Town Belgrade.
Very new, stylish and comfortable rooms.
Hotel has his own nostalgic Yugoslavian vintage favour,
all thanks to fascinating collection of mid 19 century oil paintings and hundreds of books
Great selection of breakfast options, everything was fresh and testy.
Short distance to most attractions.

What could be improved: nothing
