The ceilings have that pre-war height that makes you feel less cramped than most city accommodations, and whoever designed this understood that travelers need real storage space, not just a tiny closet and hope for the best. The kitchen is actually functional too – I’m talking proper counter space and appliances that don’t look like they were picked up at a garage sale. Small thing, but the lighting throughout is spot-on, which you really appreciate when you’re trying to get ready for dinner or just want to read without straining your eyes.

Location-wise, you’re maybe a ten-minute walk from Knez Mihailova, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos when you want to just chill. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel – there’s a decent bakery around the corner that locals actually use, and you’ll hear Serbian conversations drifting up from the street rather than just English-speaking tour groups. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area (honestly, it’s Belgrade, so that’s not exactly shocking), but the hosts are pretty good about giving you the real scoop on where to leave your car without getting a ticket.
