The bathroom’s small but functional, and the shower pressure is actually decent, which… well, if you’ve stayed in European apartments before, you know that’s not always a given.

What really sold me on this place though is the location – you’re maybe a ten-minute walk to Skadarlija (that’s the bohemian quarter everyone talks about), but you’re also right there in Palilula where actual Belgradians live their lives. There’s this little bakery two blocks down where the woman behind the counter started recognizing me after three days, and the produce market on Thursdays is absolutely worth getting up early for. You can cut through the park to get to the city center, and I actually preferred that route to taking public transport – it’s maybe twenty minutes of walking through some really lovely tree-lined streets. Parking was easier than I expected too, though I’d recommend asking the owner about the zone restrictions because they change depending on the day of the week.

The building itself is older but well-maintained, and yes, you’ll hear your upstairs neighbors occasionally, but it’s normal apartment living sounds, not party noise. I actually found it kind of comforting after staying in too many silent hotels that feel like sensory deprivation chambers. The wifi held up fine for video calls (I had to work a few mornings), and the heating works well – important if you’re visiting outside summer months because Belgrade winters are no joke. Check-in was smooth, though the owner does prefer meeting in person rather than leaving keys in a lockbox, so just plan accordingly.

Look, this isn’t going to blow your mind with luxury amenities, but it’ll give you a genuine taste of living in Belgrade rather than just passing through it. The rating speaks for itself really – when a place consistently makes people happy, it’s usually because they’re doing the small things right.
