Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Belgrade, and this little apartment on Crnogorska really caught me off guard – in the best way possible. When I first saw the address, I’ll be honest, I had to double-check because it’s tucked into this quiet residential street that most tourists never find, but here’s the thing – you’re literally a five-minute walk from Knez Mihailova pedestrian zone and maybe seven minutes to the fortress. I mean, you get all the benefits of being in the heart of everything without dealing with the street performers and weekend crowds right outside your window.

The apartment itself feels like someone actually lives there, you know? Not in a messy way, but in that comfortable, thought-out way where everything just works. The kitchen has proper coffee cups (not those tiny hotel ones), the shower has decent water pressure – which honestly can be hit or miss in this part of the city – and the bed is actually comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with it all night. What really got me though was the morning light. The windows face east, so you get this gorgeous natural wake-up call without being blinded, and you can hear the city coming alive below but it’s not overwhelming. There’s something about the sound of trams in the distance and people heading to work that makes you feel like you’re experiencing real Belgrade, not just the tourist version.

The location is pretty brilliant when you think about it – you’re close enough to walk to everything that matters (the bohemian quarter of Skadarlija is maybe ten minutes on foot, and don’t even get me started on how close you are to some seriously good kafanas), but far enough from the main drag that you can actually get some sleep. Parking can be a bit tricky in this neighborhood, but there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re driving. The building itself has that classic Belgrade charm – you know, the kind with thick walls and high ceilings that keep things cool in summer. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that awkward key-passing or confusing instructions you sometimes get with apartment rentals. Honestly, with a 9.6 rating, I was expecting it to be good, but sometimes those numbers can be misleading – this place actually lives up to the hype. It’s the kind of spot where you find yourself lingering over morning coffee because you’re not in a rush to escape somewhere better.
