You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Cherry Apartment Arena when I first rolled up to Milutina Milankovica street – honestly, the name sounds more like a sports complex than a place you’d want to stay. But this 4-star spot actually surprised me in the best way. The building sits right in the heart of Novi Beograd, which I mean, some people think is just concrete blocks and office buildings, but there’s something refreshingly honest about this part of Belgrade. No pretense, just modern living done right. The lobby has this clean, almost minimalist vibe that immediately made me think “okay, someone here actually cares about design.” Check-in was smooth – the staff spoke excellent English and genuinely seemed happy to help, not just going through the motions like you get at some chain places.

What really got me was how the apartments feel like actual homes rather than sterile hotel rooms. Mine had this little kitchen setup that was way more functional than I expected – proper fridge, decent stovetop, enough counter space to actually prep something if you wanted to skip restaurants for a night. The beds are seriously comfortable (and I’m picky about mattresses), plus there’s this attention to detail in the furnishings that you notice after a day or two. Good lighting for reading, outlets where you actually need them, decent Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes. The bathrooms are modern without being flashy – hot water pressure that’ll wake you up in the morning, which honestly matters more than marble countertops. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven around Belgrade will appreciate. The neighborhood gets busy during weekday rush hours since you’re near the business district, but evenings are pretty quiet, and weekends have this nice residential calm.

Here’s the thing though – location-wise, you’re perfectly positioned without paying tourist-trap prices. Delta City shopping center is literally a short walk if you need anything, and getting into central Belgrade takes maybe 15-20 minutes by car or tram. The tram stop on Mileševa is super close, and once you figure out the public transport rhythm (which takes about a day), you’re golden. I actually preferred staying here over somewhere in Stari Grad because you get that authentic Belgrade residential experience without the noise and crowds. Plus, there are some genuinely good local restaurants within walking distance – not the touristy places that serve okay ćevapi for triple the price, but spots where you’ll hear more Serbian than English at dinner. The 8.7 rating makes total sense to me; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but everything works exactly as it should, the value is solid, and you’ll sleep well. If you want to experience Belgrade like someone who actually lives here rather than just passing through, this is your spot.
