Walking out the front door on Takovska Street, I was genuinely surprised how quickly I could get to… well, everywhere. The pedestrian zone on Knez Mihailova is maybe a seven-minute walk, and you can see the fortress from some of the upper floors. I mean, Belgrade’s not a massive city, but still – this location just works.

The building itself has that solid, understated vibe that you get with newer four-star places in this part of Europe. Nothing too flashy, but honestly, that’s what I liked about it. The lobby’s got this clean, modern feel without trying too hard to be trendy. Check-in was smooth – the staff actually seemed to know what they were doing, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case. My room was on the fourth floor (there’s an elevator, thank god), and while it wasn’t huge, everything felt thoughtfully laid out. The bathroom was particularly well done – good water pressure, proper lighting for getting ready, little touches like that. I stayed there in late spring, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, though I ended up opening the windows most evenings because the street noise dies down after about 10 PM.

What really sold me on the place was how it felt like a proper Belgrade experience without the chaos. You’re in Stari Grad, so you get that authentic old-town feel, but you’re not dealing with the tourist crowds that swarm around some of the more famous spots. There’s a great little bakery literally around the corner that locals actually go to – I grabbed coffee and burek there most mornings instead of paying hotel prices. The tram stop on Kralja Milana is about a three-minute walk if you want to explore further out, and honestly, walking to the main square never felt like a trek, even when I was carrying shopping bags. One thing I’ll mention – parking can be tricky in this area if you’re driving, but the hotel staff helped sort that out. They seem to have arrangements with a nearby garage, though I didn’t get all the details since I was walking everywhere anyway. The 8.9 rating makes sense to me – it’s the kind of place that just handles the basics really well without any major surprises, good or bad. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want.
