Ivan Begova is one of those streets that locals actually use – there’s a decent bakery about two minutes away where you’ll hear more Serbian than English, and you’re literally a five-minute walk from Knez Mihailova pedestrian zone without dealing with the crowds every time you step outside. The apartment itself feels like someone actually lives there (or could live there comfortably), not like it was furnished by someone who’s never spent a night in a rental property. The kitchen is properly equipped – I mean, you can actually cook a real meal if you want to, which is rarer than it should be in vacation rentals. The wifi is solid, the heating works well (important in Belgrade winters, trust me), and the whole place just feels… I don’t know, honest? Clean without being sterile, comfortable without trying too hard.

Here’s what I really appreciate though – the building is quiet at night, which is kind of miraculous given how central you are. You’re close enough to walk to Skadarlija for dinner, hit up the fortress for sunset, or grab coffee in any direction, but you’re not dealing with street noise or party crowds stumbling past at 3 AM. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this neighborhood if you’re driving, but honestly, you probably don’t need a car here anyway. The whole historic center is walkable, and if you need to get somewhere further out, taxis are cheap and the public transport is better than most people expect. I stayed here during shoulder season and it felt like having a proper Belgrade address rather than being obviously a tourist – which, let’s be honest, is exactly what you want when you’re trying to get a real feel for a city. The 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there; it’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but it’s the kind of place where everything just works the way it should.
