We went to Belgrade to spend New Year’s Eve as a group of four. Everything was exactly as we expected! The location was very central (we never had to use the car), the apartment was very clean, spacious, and warm. Predrag was amazing!!- he helped us with everything, from directions to extra assistance with parking and guidance! Truly a gem of an apartment to choose. Thank you very much 💙

BOTANIK
You know what struck me first about BOTANIK?
You know what struck me first about BOTANIK? The name actually makes sense once you step inside – there’s this subtle green theme running through everything without being over the top about it. It’s tucked away on Knez-Miletina, which honestly took me a minute to find the first time (the street numbers can be a bit tricky in Stari Grad), but that’s kind of perfect because it means you’re not dealing with the main street noise that hits some of the other hotels around here.
The location is really something special, though I don’t think everyone realizes it right away. You’re basically in the heart of old Belgrade – I mean, you can walk to Kalemegdan Fortress in about ten minutes, and Skadarlija (that’s the bohemian quarter everyone talks about) is literally around the corner. What I love is that you get this authentic neighborhood feel – there’s a little bakery two blocks down where locals actually go for their morning coffee, not tourist prices either. The building itself has that solid European feel, probably from the early 1900s I’d guess, with those thick walls that actually keep things quiet. I’ve stayed in plenty of “historic” hotels where you hear every footstep above you, but BOTANIK’s got proper soundproofing.
The rooms are honestly better than what you’d expect from most four-star places – they’ve clearly put thought into the details rather than just checking boxes. The bathrooms are genuinely nice (good water pressure, which isn’t always a given in older Belgrade buildings), and there’s this attention to lighting that makes everything feel warmer. Staff knows their stuff too – when I asked about getting to Nikola Tesla Airport early morning, they didn’t just say “take a taxi” but actually explained the timing for the airport bus and where to catch it. That’s the kind of local knowledge that makes a difference.
Here’s what really sold me on the place: that 9.5 rating isn’t inflated. I’ve seen plenty of hotels gaming their reviews, but this one earns it through small things done right. Check-in was actually pleasant (no upselling, no complications), housekeeping is thorough without being intrusive, and the neighborhood feels safe walking around at night – important when you want to experience Belgrade’s nightlife, which honestly doesn’t even get started until 11 PM. The breakfast setup is solid too, though I’ll admit I usually ended up at that local bakery I mentioned because, well, when in Belgrade, right?
If you’re looking for a place that gets you into the real rhythm of the city rather than keeping you in some tourist bubble, BOTANIK hits that sweet spot. It’s polished enough that you’re comfortable, but rooted enough in the neighborhood that you feel like you’re actually experiencing Belgrade rather than just visiting it.

What Our Guests Say
Everything
The house located within a short walking distance to the center. The heating was sufficient. The house was very nice and the decoration was amazing. The host was very helpful in every way. We were also very happy that they left Turkish coffee at home :) We recommend it to everyone.
We were late due to a delay in flights and our hosts waited for us. They gave us excellent recommendations for Belgrade, the neighborhood and everything else that we needed to know. The apartment is spacious and comfortable, well equipped and has a lovely balcony. The area is residential, quiet but super close to the city center. Definitely worth a visit! Many thanks to our gracious hosts !
The flat is lovely and cosy, and the host is really nice and helpful. The location is good as well. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Beautiful apartment in a central location but still tucked away and quiet. The host is a lovely lady, so kind and helpful. Has everything you need, close to shops, cafes and all main attractions. Would definitely stay again
What could be improved: Everything was great
This place is amazing and Jelena is the best host ever! 🥰
location is great, people great, appartment is great, jelena left gifts for us, refreshments and she even went to pay for us a parking ticket. She waited for us until midnight because border delays. WOW ONE OF A KIND PERSON!
The apartment has everything, the host is friendly and easy to communicate with. Liked the location, very close to the old town.
What could be improved: The parking is a bit complicated, you have to pay 8 euro per day if the car with the camera went by. Nothing cheaper...
We had such a good time in this apartment. First of all host was waiting for us even we were arriving much later, evening before Easter. After nice welcoming, with coffee, tea and beverage waiting for us, we enjoyed complete silence in the centre of Belgrade, we really had great sleep. House next to apartment is a bakery, two houses away is a caffe, shop is right across the street, 5 minutes walk is a farmers market and bohemian centre of Belgrade with all famous restaurants. The main bus and tram lines were all less than 5 mins walk from us, and we feel really lucky we picked this apartment. Thanks for everything, really hope to see you again.
Sve je bilo super.
What could be improved: Nemam zamerki.
