What I really appreciated was the soundproofing – Hercegovacka can get busy during the day, but once you close those windows, it’s genuinely quiet. Plus, there’s proper storage space, which sounds boring but trust me, after living out of a suitcase for a few days, having actual closets and drawers makes you feel human again.

You’re walking distance from some excellent kafanas (I’d recommend asking your host about Manufaktura, it’s tucked away but locals love it), and getting to the old town is just a quick tram ride across the river. Actually, here’s something most visitors don’t realize: the best time to explore the waterfront is early morning around 7 AM when the mist comes off the Sava and the whole area feels almost mystical. The apartment’s position gives you easy access to all of this without the chaos of staying right in Knez Mihailova where tourists congregate. Check-in was smooth – none of that awkward waiting around or hunting for keys – and the host clearly knows the neighborhood well enough to give you those insider tips that actually matter.
