Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to this apartment building on Bulevar Vudroa Vilsona – it’s one of those newer developments in Belgrade Waterfront that can feel a bit sterile from the outside. But man, was I wrong about what waited on the sixth floor.

The moment you step into apartment 602, you get why this place has a 9.9 rating. The views alone are worth the climb (well, elevator ride, but you know what I mean). You’re looking straight out over the Sava River, and on clear mornings – which Belgrade gets plenty of – you can watch the whole city wake up from your coffee spot by the windows. The apartment itself feels more like a friend’s really nice place than a rental, if that makes sense. Everything’s thoughtfully set up, from the kitchen that actually has decent knives (travelers know this struggle) to the bathroom that doesn’t make you do weird contortions in the shower. I mean, the attention to detail here is something else – there are USB ports in smart places, the wifi actually works throughout the space, and someone clearly thought about where you’d want to plug in your phone at night.

What really sold me on this spot, though, is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re in Savski Venac, which puts you close enough to walk into the old town when you want that authentic Belgrade energy, but far enough from the late-night party chaos that you’ll actually sleep. The waterfront promenade is literally right there – perfect for those evening walks when you’ve eaten too much ćevapi (and trust me, you will). There’s a decent grocery store about three blocks away, and honestly, the whole area feels safe even when you’re wandering back late from dinner. Parking can be a bit tricky during busy periods – this whole waterfront district has gotten pretty popular with both tourists and locals – but the building has options, and worst case, there’s street parking if you’re patient. One small thing worth mentioning: the elevator can get busy during check-in rushes on weekends, but it’s hardly a dealbreaker.

What strikes me most about staying here is how it manages to feel both modern and livable. Some of these newer Belgrade apartments try so hard to look Instagram-perfect that they forget people actually need to, you know, live in them for a few days. This place gets that balance right – it’s stylish enough that you’ll want to take photos, but comfortable enough that you’ll actually relax. Plus, being on the sixth floor means you get these amazing sunset views over the water without the street noise that can keep you up in other parts of the city. If you’re the type who likes having a proper home base while exploring Belgrade rather than just a place to crash, this apartment delivers in ways that surprised me.
