You know what caught me off guard about Apartment Urban Garden? The name actually makes sense once you’re there. I mean, you’re on Preševska street in Zvezdara – which honestly isn’t the first neighborhood most tourists think of – but there’s this surprisingly green, residential vibe that feels miles away from the hustle of central Belgrade, even though you’re really not that far out.

The place has this lived-in comfort that’s hard to fake. It’s got that 4-star polish without feeling stuffy, and honestly, an 8.9 rating seems about right. The apartments themselves are spacious in a way that makes you realize how cramped most city hotels actually are. I particularly loved the little balcony spaces – not huge, but big enough for morning coffee while you watch the neighborhood wake up. The Zvezdara locals are early risers, so you’ll hear the distant sounds of the market vendors setting up if you’re up around 7 AM. There’s something oddly comforting about it.

Getting around from here is actually pretty straightforward once you figure out the bus routes. Preševska connects you to the main arteries heading into the city center, and parking isn’t the nightmare it can be in other parts of Belgrade – though I’d still recommend checking with them about spots during summer when everyone’s trying to escape to the Danube. The building itself has this quiet, almost residential feel that makes check-in feel more like you’re staying with friends than checking into a hotel. I noticed they’ve clearly put thought into the little details – decent Wi-Fi (which isn’t always guaranteed in Serbian accommodations, let’s be honest), and the kitchenettes are actually functional, not just there for show. The whole setup works particularly well if you’re planning to stay more than just a couple nights, since you can actually live a bit rather than just crash between sightseeing sessions. Plus, there’s something to be said for being in a real Belgrade neighborhood where you can grab groceries at the local shops and get a feel for how the city actually works, rather than just seeing the tourist highlights around Knez Mihailova.
