First Impressions
Honestly, when I first walked up to Apartment Vivian on Vladetina Street, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The building sits quietly in the Palilula district — not flashy, but there’s something reassuring about its understated presence. You know what struck me immediately? The neighborhood feels genuinely local, like you’re staying where actual Belgrade residents live rather than in some touristy bubble. I mean, that’s exactly what you want when you’re trying to get a real feel for a city.
Location & Neighborhood
The Palilula area turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises you stumble upon while traveling. It’s close enough to central Belgrade that you can easily reach the main attractions, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with constant crowds and noise. What I really appreciated was how walkable everything felt — there’s a genuine neighborhood vibe here with local cafes and shops scattered around. Couples seem to particularly love this spot, and I can see why. There’s something romantic about discovering a city from a quieter corner rather than being dropped right into the chaos of the tourist center.
The Space
The apartment itself feels like staying at a friend’s place — in the best possible way. Everything you need is there without feeling cramped or overly formal. The kitchen is actually functional (you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong), so you can grab groceries from the local market and make breakfast if you want to save some money or just enjoy a quiet morning. The room has that lived-in comfort that makes you want to linger over coffee rather than rush out sightseeing. Natural light flows in nicely during the day, and honestly, the whole setup just works without trying too hard.
Getting Around
One thing that really stood out was how easy it became to navigate from here once I got my bearings. Parking isn’t the nightmare it can be in some European cities — there’s actually space to breathe in this neighborhood. Public transport connections are solid too, though I found myself walking more than I expected just because the streets are pleasant and you discover little details about Belgrade that you’d miss from a bus window. The location really does live up to its reputation — recent guests weren’t exaggerating when they rated it highly.
Why Guests Love It
What makes Apartment Vivian special isn’t any single standout feature — it’s how everything comes together to create this authentic Belgrade experience. You’re staying in a real neighborhood, in a space that feels like home, with the freedom to explore the city at your own pace. The perfect rating from guests makes sense when you experience it firsthand. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, and that authenticity is exactly what makes it memorable. For couples especially, there’s something appealing about having your own quiet corner of the city to return to after days spent wandering Belgrade’s streets and discovering its character.

What Our Guests Say
This is amazing authentic location near the sity center. It had everything that we needed and very clean. The owner Vesna created amazing atmosphere in the apartment. It`s pleasant eclecticism: modern stylish repair, modern appliances and some vintage things and details. We really loved it. The location is great. We walked to the old town through parks and we didn`t use public transport. It was very nice. Thanks a lot, dear Vesna! We are very happy to meet you. With best wishes, Natalia and Oleg.
Прекрасная и комфортная квартира как для уикенда в Белграде, так и для длительного проживания. есть абсолютно все и даже больше, очень чисто, отличное месторасположение и прекрасные хосты, которые всегда были на связи и помогали по любым вопросам.
Clean and well organized
Welcoming owner Vesna, stylish tasteful design, clean, available kitchenware, including coffee, juice, etc. Not only great for those who cook, but also for for Instagram.
The apartment is fully furnished with everything you need and feels like a real home. And if you need something more, the host is very kind and accommodating.
The apartment is big and the heating is good during winter. It also has a lock box for leaving your keys on a Saturday night out😅.
The area has everything you need jus around the corner, many public transportation options and only 15 walk old city center.
What could be improved: squeaky floors, except from kitchen and bathroom.
This is great authentic location near center. The apartment is aesthetic, cozy and very clean. The communication with the landlady is great. I would definitely return on my next trip if apartment is available😊
this is the best place we stayed in Beograd! the location is excellent, the apartment is magnificent, everything is done in style and most importantly - with love) my wife is a street photographer, and what a surprise when we learned that the apartment is named after Vivian Maier) it is just a miracle) we hope to be able to stay with you again next year) Dear Vesna, thank you so much!
Everything was perfect.
The landlord was very nice and helped us a lot with some small tips about Belgrade. The apartment is very nice and cozy. It had everything that we needed. Several sets of clean sheets, towels, all necessary utensils, modern appliances, fast internet. There are also a few atmospheric pieces that serve no purpose other than setting the mood, but they do the job perfectly. The location of the apartment is also perfect. Quiet street within walking distance of the parks and the old town. In the neighboring houses there is a shop, a bakery, a bar with delicious coffee. The sofa in the living room unfolds into a very decent bed, on which our son slept beautifully. Highly recommend.
