First Impressions
Walking up to Apartment Ivy on Kraljevića Marka street, you’ll notice it doesn’t scream “hotel” — and that’s actually part of its charm. This place feels more like staying at a well-connected friend’s apartment in the heart of Belgrade. The building itself has that solid, pre-war character you find throughout Savski Venac, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better if you tried. I mean, you’re literally in one of Belgrade’s most walkable neighborhoods, where locals actually live and work.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re close enough to everything that matters without being stuck in tourist central. The Sava River is just a short walk away, and you can easily reach Knez Mihailova pedestrian zone on foot. But you know what’s even better? The authentic Belgrade life happening right outside your door. There are proper local cafes where people spend hours over coffee, small shops that have been family-run for decades, and that genuine neighborhood vibe that’s getting harder to find in city centers. Couples seem to get this — the rating reflects how perfect it is for romantic city breaks where you want to feel like temporary locals.
The Space Itself
The apartment setup works really well, especially if you’re tired of cramped hotel rooms with nowhere to spread out. You get actual living space here — room to breathe, a proper kitchen if you want to grab groceries from the nearby market, and that homey feeling that makes longer stays comfortable. The furnishing is practical rather than flashy, but everything you need is there. I particularly appreciate having a real refrigerator and the ability to make coffee exactly how you like it, rather than relying on those tiny hotel packets.
Getting Around Belgrade
From Apartment Ivy, Belgrade opens up in all directions. You can walk to the fortress and Kalemegdan Park — honestly, one of the most underrated park experiences in Europe — or head toward the bohemian Skadarlija quarter for dinner. The public transport connections are solid too, though you’ll find yourself walking more than you expected because distances are manageable and the streets are interesting. When evening comes, you’re perfectly positioned for Belgrade’s famous nightlife, whether that means riverside clubs or cozy wine bars tucked into side streets.
Why Guests Love It
The high ratings make sense once you spend a few days here. It’s that sweet spot between independence and service — you get the freedom of apartment living with the reliability of professional management. Recent guests consistently mention the location, and after exploring Belgrade from this base, I totally understand why. You’re not just staying somewhere in Belgrade; you’re staying somewhere that lets you experience the city the way it’s meant to be experienced. Plus, there’s something satisfying about having your own key to a place on a quiet residential street, knowing you can come and go as you please while still being steps away from everything that makes Belgrade special.
Exploring Belgrade uncovers fortress sunsets, street art walks, and soulful brass bands echoing through riverside districts.

What Our Guests Say
Great locatin and very comfortable apartment
the location
What could be improved: open windows for fresh air
Comfortable bed, clean bathroom, quiet. Everything what I needed for my stay was included. Nemanja is a nice host. There is a really nice bar just outside the apartment.
What could be improved: There is a certain smell as the apartment is located in the basement, but it was bearable. Everything else was great.
Very comfortable and good location in Beograd. Our host was very good with communication and extremely helpful to sort out a problem we had. Well equipped and spacious, it was very cool on the very hot days and nights we stayed.
Really close to city center, the host was really nice and took us in quickly after booking (because we had issues with another apartment we booked prior). The apartment is modern, clean, has everything you need and the atmosphere is really nice. Would recommend!
The guy that let me in showed me the apartment was very nice and helpful. I stayed at the apartment twice, and he was always on time and smiling.
What could be improved: Unfortunately, since it's a basement apartment, it doesn't have much ventilation and smells a little musty.
close to downtown and the river
What could be improved: No one to ask questions or give information and tourist facilities were difficult to find
Real comfy and well packed apartment. It has wall electric heaters and an air conditioner. Great value for its price.
What could be improved: Overall apartment feels beaten up...
Some power sockets fell off. The kitchen sink is not locked in place. There's no curtain on the bedroom window. The bedroom heater is lying on the floor and renders unusable.
very clean, modern, convenient location
What could be improved: the building is very old and not well reserved, and in the entrance of the building to the basement it smells damp.
