But honestly, this place surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked right in the heart of Stari Grad, which is Belgrade’s old town for those who don’t know, and once you’re inside, you get why they went with the “Artistika” thing. The space has this really thoughtful design that feels curated without being stuffy – sort of like staying in a friend’s apartment if your friend happened to have excellent taste and actually cared about things like good lighting and comfortable furniture.

The location is what really makes this place shine, though. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Knez Mihailova, which is the main pedestrian street where everyone ends up wandering eventually, but you’re also close enough to the Danube that you can actually hear the water if you open your windows at night (which I recommend – Belgrade summers can get pretty warm). The neighborhood has that perfect mix of local life and tourist accessibility – there’s a little bakery two blocks down that does these incredible burek pastries, and the coffee shop across the street serves proper Serbian coffee that’ll wake you up faster than you think possible. Now, about that parking situation – yeah, it’s off-site and you definitely need to reserve ahead, which was slightly annoying when I forgot to mention it during booking. But the spot they arranged was only about a three-minute walk away, and honestly, in this part of Belgrade, that’s pretty much as good as it gets unless you want to pay twice as much somewhere else.

What really struck me was how quiet it stays despite being so central. I was there during late spring when the city was definitely buzzing, but the apartment itself felt like a proper retreat at the end of long days exploring. The 8.6 rating makes sense – it’s not perfect (the shower pressure could be better, and the Wi-Fi got a bit spotty during busy evening hours), but it nails the things that actually matter. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen had everything I needed for simple meals, and there’s this great natural light that comes through in the mornings. Plus, the check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – no weird key pickup locations or confusing instructions. If you’re looking for a place that gives you a real feel for Belgrade without sacrificing comfort, and you don’t mind handling your own breakfast instead of dealing with hotel dining rooms, this is definitely worth considering. Just remember to sort out that parking reservation when you book.
