You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from an apartment tucked away on Vase Čarapića – honestly, I’d never even heard of the street before booking. But this little gem actually surprised me in the best way possible. The moment you step inside 1A Moment Apartment, you get why it’s pulling an 8.8 rating. It’s one of those places that feels like someone’s stylish Belgrade friend just handed you their keys and said “make yourself at home.”

The location is actually pretty clever – you’re right in Stari Grad, which means you can walk to Kalemegdan Park in about ten minutes (I timed it), but you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos on Knez Mihailova every time you step outside. The street itself is quiet enough that I could sleep with the windows cracked open, which is saying something for Belgrade. There’s a little bakery around the corner that opens ridiculously early – around 6 AM – and the smell of fresh bread drifting up in the morning became my unofficial alarm clock. Parking was… well, it’s Belgrade, so you’ll need to get creative with street spots, but I managed fine walking a block or two most days.

The apartment itself has that modern European vibe without feeling sterile – think clean lines but with enough personality that you don’t feel like you’re staying in an IKEA showroom. The kitchen is actually functional (shocking, I know) with decent counter space and appliances that work properly. I mean, the coffee maker took me a minute to figure out, but once I did, it made a proper cup. The bathroom has one of those rainfall showerheads that actually has decent pressure, which honestly made my mornings. What really got me though was the attention to little details – good lighting for reading, enough outlets where you need them, and blackout curtains that actually block light. Small things, but they add up when you’re trying to recover from exploring Belgrade’s nightlife scene. The whole place stays pretty cool even in summer, though I was there in shoulder season so can’t speak to peak July heat. Check-in was smooth – the host met me right on time and gave me the kind of local tips you can’t Google, like which tram line actually runs on schedule and where to get the best ćevapi in the neighborhood. Four stars feels about right for this place, maybe even conservative.
