The building itself looks pretty standard from the street – I mean, it’s right there on Makedonska where you’ve got that bustling mix of old Belgrade character and modern city life happening. But once you take that elevator up to the 4th floor, honestly, the whole vibe shifts. The apartments are actually quite spacious, and I’m talking proper apartment living here, not those cramped hotel rooms where you’re practically sleeping on top of your suitcase.

The location is sort of perfect if you ask me – you’re literally in Stari Grad, which means you can walk to pretty much everything that matters in old Belgrade. Republic Square is maybe a 10-minute stroll, and you’ve got Skadarlija (that cobblestone bohemian quarter everyone raves about) close enough that you’ll probably end up there multiple times during your stay. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night despite being so central. Sure, you’ll hear some street noise during the day – it’s Belgrade, after all – but nothing that keeps you awake. The building has that solid, old-school construction that actually blocks out most of the city sounds.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I arrived: the check-in process is pretty straightforward, but like a lot of these apartment-style places, you’re not getting a full hotel experience with a lobby and concierge. That said, the staff knows their stuff and they’re genuinely helpful when you need something. The apartments themselves feel lived-in rather than sterile – good kitchenettes if you want to grab groceries from the market (there’s a decent one just a few blocks away near Dorćol), and the Wi-Fi actually works well enough for video calls, which honestly can be hit or miss in some Belgrade accommodations. Parking can be a bit tricky in this area, but that’s true for most of central Belgrade – you’ll probably want to ask about options when you book. The 8.7 rating makes sense to me because it delivers on what it promises without any fancy frills, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re exploring a city like Belgrade where the real action is happening outside your door anyway.
