You know what caught me off guard about this place? The moment I walked into Quince Apartment, I actually forgot I was staying in what’s technically just a rental – it feels way more polished than that. Located right on Brankova street in Stari Grad, you’re literally in the heart of old Belgrade, but somehow it doesn’t feel touristy or overwhelming. I mean, you can walk to Knez Mihailova (the main pedestrian zone) in maybe five minutes, but the street itself stays pretty quiet, especially at night.

The free parking thing is honestly a game-changer if you’re driving – and I’m saying this as someone who’s circled Belgrade’s narrow streets for an hour looking for a spot before. Most places in this area either don’t have parking or charge you daily for it. The apartment itself has that modern-but-not-sterile vibe going on, with actually comfortable furniture (not the cheap stuff you usually get in short-term rentals) and a kitchen that’s equipped well enough that you could cook a proper meal if you wanted to. The bathroom’s got good water pressure too, which… well, you don’t realize how much you miss it until you don’t have it. What really impressed me was the attention to small details – decent coffee in the kitchen, extra towels without having to ask, that kind of thing that shows someone actually thought about what guests might need.

Being in Stari Grad means you’re surrounded by layers of history, but also some of Belgrade’s best kafanas and restaurants. There’s this little bakery maybe two blocks away that opens ridiculously early and makes these amazing burek pastries – perfect if you’re dealing with jet lag and up at 6 AM. The location puts you close enough to the Danube waterfront that you can easily walk down for evening drinks at one of the floating river clubs (splavovi, as locals call them), but far enough up the hill that you won’t hear the music all night. I stayed there during late spring when Belgrade gets pretty lively, and while you definitely know you’re in a city, it never felt chaotic or overwhelming. The 9.5 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s one of those places that just works, you know? Everything from check-in to the WiFi to the neighborhood vibe aligns perfectly for what most travelers actually want from a Belgrade stay.
