Jordan Apartment – City Center
Look, I'll be honest — when I first saw "Jordan Apartment" on the booking site, I wasn't expecting much.
Look, I’ll be honest — when I first saw “Jordan Apartment” on the booking site, I wasn’t expecting much. The name sounds pretty generic, right? But walking up to 67 Cara Dušana in Stari Grad, I actually got excited. You’re literally in the heart of Belgrade’s old town here, and I mean the real deal, not some touristy reconstruction. The building itself has that solid, pre-war feel that you get in this part of the city, and honestly, the location is kind of perfect if you want to actually experience Belgrade rather than just visit it.
The thing about staying right on Cara Dušana is that you’re maybe a three-minute walk from Skadarlija — you know, that cobblestone street everyone calls Belgrade’s Montmartre. But here’s what the guidebooks don’t tell you: early morning on this street is absolutely magical. Before the kafanas open and the tourists arrive, you’ll hear church bells from multiple directions (there are like four old churches within a few blocks), and you can actually smell fresh bread from the bakeries mixing with that particular Belgrade morning air. The apartment itself lives up to its 4-star rating in ways that matter — the shower has proper water pressure, which honestly surprised me, and the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes like some places I’ve stayed in the Balkans. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night despite being so central. Sure, you’ll hear some street noise during the day, but by 11 PM it’s surprisingly peaceful.
You know what sold me on this place? The little details that show someone actually cares about guests’ experience. The kitchen has real coffee (not instant), there’s a proper iron that actually works, and — this might sound weird but it matters — the towels don’t feel like sandpaper. Plus, and this is huge if you’re planning to explore, you can walk to Republic Square in about eight minutes, hit the fortress in fifteen, and there’s a decent grocery store literally around the corner on Kralja Petra. Parking can be tricky in this area (it’s old town, what do you expect?), but there’s usually something available on the side streets if you’re patient. The 8.6 rating makes total sense to me — it’s not luxury, but it’s exactly what you want: clean, comfortable, well-located, and run by people who seem to get that travelers want to feel at home, not like they’re camping in someone’s sterile investment property. If you’re the type who wants to grab morning coffee at a neighborhood spot where locals actually go, then wander over to check out whatever’s happening at the National Museum, this place puts you right where you need to be.
