You know what struck me first about Hotel Botanica? The name actually makes sense once you step inside – there’s this unexpectedly lush, almost greenhouse-like quality to the lobby that feels like a breath of fresh air in the middle of Stari Grad. I mean, Belgrade’s old town can get pretty intense with all the cobblestones and tourist crowds, but this place somehow manages to feel like a quiet retreat just steps away from all the action on Skadarlija Street. The location on Vojvode Dobrnjca is honestly perfect if you want to be walking distance from the bohemian quarter without dealing with the late-night restaurant noise – though let’s be real, if you’re in Belgrade and not staying up late, you’re probably doing it wrong anyway.
What I really appreciate about this place is how it doesn’t try too hard to be something it’s not. It’s a solid 4-star hotel that actually delivers on that promise, which honestly isn’t always a given in this part of Europe. The rooms have this clean, modern feel without being sterile – kind of like someone’s stylish apartment rather than a corporate hotel box. The staff seem to genuinely know the neighborhood, too. When I asked about getting to the fortress, the front desk guy didn’t just point toward Kalemegdan like most places would – he actually told me about the quieter entrance near the Orthodox Cathedral and mentioned which cafes along the way have the best morning coffee. Little things like that make a difference when you’re trying to feel less like a tourist, you know?
Parking was surprisingly painless (if you’ve driven in Belgrade, you’ll understand why this matters), and the whole check-in process was refreshingly straightforward. The 8.7 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s the kind of place where everything just works the way it should. The breakfast is actually decent, the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and you can sleep through the night without worrying about street noise. Plus, you’re literally a ten-minute walk from some of the best restaurants in the city – I’m talking about the real local spots on Knez Mihailova, not just the touristy places. If you’re the type who likes to drop your bags and immediately start exploring rather than hanging around the hotel, this is your spot.

The room was clean, staff were friendly and open buffet breakfast was perfect with delicious ingredient. Also the location of the hotel was very close to all main attractions, about 15-20 min walk distance.
What could be improved: There are two buildings, the one we stayed was on the main road and it was very noisy due to cars passing through all night.

The room was spotless, and the staff were highly professional. Despite the hotel's convenient location near the city center, it was wonderfully quiet. I truly enjoyed my stay here!
The hotel is situated very well - near by the city center and with a lot of things to do around. The private parking is in place and is a very useful facility. The personnel were very polite, collaborative and competent.
Regardless these deficiency, we will use the hotel again when we're in Belgrade, because it is a very good place to stay.
What could be improved: The minus is the breakfast - It absolutely not worth for the money, because of the limited choose of offered food. The good thing is that at a walking distance you can find a bakery with brilliant breakfast, which costs at least 5 times less. Another disturbance is the early check out time - 10:00 a.m.
Always clean and very kind staff. Acceptable breakfast.
What could be improved: There is no slippers for bathroom and no toothbrush and toothpaste in hygine kit. We book deluxe double size bed but our bed was merged with two single bed.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The location was great as well.
What could be improved: The room was looking at a park where there are some night activities were going on (guys yelling each other, throwing fireworks etc). The noise woke me up several times each night.
The location is at the centers of Belgrade, which is quite handy for people traveling there.
