Walking up to Cooling Epicenter on Kneza Mihaila, you immediately get why this four-star hotel has such a stellar reputation. The building itself has this modern, sleek vibe that somehow doesn’t clash with the historic charm of Stari Grad. You’re literally on Belgrade’s main pedestrian street — the energy here is infectious. The location alone had me sold before I even stepped inside. This prime positioning makes it an ideal base for exploring the vibrant Serbian capital.

The Room Experience

My room was exactly what I hoped for — clean, modern, and surprisingly quiet considering we’re on such a busy street. The air conditioning (hence the “Cooling” name, I suppose) was a godsend during the warm Belgrade summer. What I really appreciated were the little touches — good lighting for reading, plenty of outlets, and a bathroom that actually had decent water pressure. Nothing fancy, but everything worked exactly as it should. The thoughtful amenities create a comfortable retreat after busy sightseeing days.

Local Dining Scene

While the hotel doesn’t have its own restaurant, that’s honestly not a problem when you’re surrounded by some of Belgrade’s best cafes and eateries. There’s this fantastic little kafana just around the corner that serves incredible ćevapi, and the coffee culture here is something else — you’ll find yourself lingering over morning espresso at one of the nearby terraces. The staff actually gave me some great recommendations that I never would have found on my own. Traditional Serbian cuisine awaits just steps from your door.
