It’s sitting right on Ada Ciganlija, which locals just call “Ada,” and if you’ve never been there, it’s basically Belgrade’s answer to having an actual coastline. The Sava River creates this long stretch of sandy beach that feels surprisingly… well, beachy.

The hotel itself has this laid-back vibe that actually works perfectly with the whole island setting. I stayed there during late summer when Ada gets pretty packed with locals escaping the city heat (and trust me, Belgrade summers can be brutal), but the hotel manages to feel like its own little bubble away from the crowds. The rooms are clean and modern – nothing fancy, but everything works, which honestly is sometimes more than you can say for some places in this part of Europe. What really got me was waking up and looking out at people already swimming and playing volleyball at like 8 AM. There’s something infectious about that energy, you know? The staff genuinely seemed to enjoy working there, which always makes a difference – they’ll give you actual recommendations instead of just pointing you toward tourist traps.

Here’s the thing about Ada that most visitors don’t realize until they’re there: it’s not just about the beach. Yeah, you’ve got your swimming and sunbathing, but there are also bike paths everywhere, decent restaurants (some better than others, honestly), and this whole network of sports facilities. The hotel’s location means you can easily walk to different parts of the island depending on what you’re in the mood for – quieter spots if you want to read a book, or the livelier areas if you want to grab a beer and watch people. Parking was surprisingly painless, which anyone who’s driven in Belgrade will appreciate. I mean, the city center can be a nightmare with a car.

The only minor thing I’d mention is that if you’re expecting five-star luxury, this isn’t that – it’s more about the experience and the location than marble bathrooms or whatever. But honestly? That 9.3 rating makes total sense once you spend a day there. It’s one of those places that just gets the basics really right, and the setting does most of the heavy lifting. Plus, you’re only about 15 minutes from downtown Belgrade when you want to explore Kalemegdan or hit up the nightlife in Savamala. I actually found myself wanting to extend my stay, which doesn’t happen that often. There’s something about falling asleep to the sound of the river that beats city traffic noise any day of the week.
