The hotel itself feels like they put real thought into the details that matter. Check-in was smooth (the staff actually speaks decent English, which isn’t always a given), and the rooms have this clean, modern vibe without being sterile. What I really appreciated was the soundproofing – you’re close enough to the action but far enough that you’re not dealing with weekend party noise echoing off the buildings like you get in Skadarlija. The beds are properly comfortable too, not just decent for Eastern Europe comfortable. And here’s something practical – parking is actually manageable here, which anyone who’s driven in Belgrade will tell you is worth its weight in gold.

The thing about staying in this part of the city is you get easy access to both sides of Belgrade. You can walk across to Kalemegdan in maybe 15 minutes if you’re feeling energetic, or hop on public transport – the bus connections from this area are solid. But honestly, I found myself just enjoying the riverside walks more than I expected. Early morning along the Sava before the city wakes up? Pretty spectacular. The hotel’s restaurant does a decent job with breakfast – nothing revolutionary, but they know their burek from their kajmak, if you know what I mean. Staff seemed genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions, which makes a difference when you’re trying to figure out where to find the best rakija or whether it’s worth trekking out to Zemun for dinner (it is, by the way).

For a four-star place, Bahus Inn delivers on the fundamentals without trying to be something it’s not. The 8.5 rating makes sense – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it gets the important stuff right and the location grows on you once you realize how well-connected you are to everything that matters in Belgrade. Plus, the value is solid compared to what you’d pay for similar quality in the tourist-heavy areas.
