Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Belgrade, and Apartment Luna Terazije honestly surprised me – in the best way possible. You know how sometimes you book a place based on location and just hope it doesn’t suck? Well, this one actually delivers. Right on Terazije Square, which I mean, you can’t get more central than that. You’re literally steps from Knez Mihailova (the main pedestrian street), and Republic Square is basically your front yard.

The apartment itself feels way more spacious than what you’d expect in this part of the city. I was prepared for one of those cramped European city center situations, but the rooms have this airy quality – probably because they’re in one of those older Belgrade buildings with those impossibly high ceilings. The kitchen is actually functional too, not just some tiny corner with a hot plate. Though honestly, with all the amazing restaurants within walking distance, I barely used it except for morning coffee. Speaking of which, the windows face the square, so you get this perfect people-watching setup with your first cup of the day. There’s some street noise – I mean, it’s Terazije, not a monastery – but it dies down after the evening crowd clears out, usually around 11 PM.

What really got me was how the owners clearly know their stuff about what travelers actually need. The WiFi works everywhere (tested it from the bathroom, don’t judge), there are enough outlets by the bed for all your devices, and they’ve got this whole folder of local recommendations that aren’t just the touristy spots everyone hits. They pointed me toward this little kafana on Skadarlija that I never would’ve found otherwise. The building entrance looks a bit intimidating if you’re not used to Belgrade architecture – it’s one of those grand old doorways that makes you wonder if you’re in the right place – but once you’re inside, everything makes sense. There’s actually an elevator, which is a blessing when you’re dragging luggage up from the tram stop. And here’s something I appreciated: check-in was flexible. I arrived around 2 PM on a Sunday (not exactly prime business hours), and they worked with me instead of making me wait around Terazije with my bags like a lost tourist. The whole experience just felt… effortless, I guess? Like staying at a friend’s place who happens to live in the absolute heart of Belgrade and knows how to make guests comfortable without making a big production out of it.
