What really impressed me was how quiet everything was at night. I mean, you’re still in Belgrade, so there’s the occasional car or late-night conversation drifting up from the street, but nothing like the chaos you’d deal with staying closer to the fortress or the main pedestrian zones. The rooms themselves – well, they’ve clearly put money into renovations recently because everything felt fresh and well-maintained. Not fancy in a flashy way, but solid and comfortable with those little touches that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. The shower had proper water pressure (always a gamble in older Belgrade buildings), and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly even when I was video calling back home.

I’ll be honest, if you’re the type who wants to stumble out of your hotel directly onto the main drag, this might not be your spot. But if you appreciate that sweet spot between authentic local experience and genuine comfort – plus having a proper base to come back to after long days wandering around Zemun or hiking up to Kalemegdan – then Anni really delivers. The 4-star rating feels right; it’s not trying to be something it’s not, just doing everything well without any pretense.
