The location is actually pretty clever once you figure it out. Sure, you’re not stumbling distance from Skadarlija or the fortress, but you’re genuinely in Belgrade, not tourist Belgrade. There’s a decent bus connection that gets you downtown in about 20 minutes, and honestly, after spending days walking cobblestones and dodging crowds, coming back to this quieter part of the city feels like a relief. The staff – and this surprised me – they actually know the neighborhood. Like, they’ll tell you about the little bakery two blocks down that opens at 6 AM, or which direction to walk if you want to see how regular Belgrade families spend their evenings.

What really sold me on this place was the attention to details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The rooms are properly soundproofed (you know how thin hotel walls can be), the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building, and the beds are firm enough that you don’t wake up feeling like you slept in a hammock. The breakfast setup is refreshingly honest – it’s not trying to be some international buffet extravaganza, but focuses on doing Serbian and Balkan breakfast items really well. Their coffee is legitimately good, which… well, if you’ve stayed in enough 4-star hotels, you know that’s not guaranteed. The whole place has this comfortable, lived-in feeling without being shabby – like staying at the home of relatives who have good taste and actually want you to be comfortable. I think that 8.8 rating reflects exactly that – it’s not flashy enough to be a 9.5, but it gets the fundamentals so right that guests keep coming back. Plus, and this is purely practical, parking is straightforward and the check-in process doesn’t involve standing around for 20 minutes while they upsell you on room upgrades you don’t need.
